Fashion for every body type
The Pear.
Those possessing a pear shaped figure are
bigger around the hips, thighs, and bottom. Balance can be achieved by wearing
bold, bright tops, boat-neck tops, and large collars, all of which offset full
hips. Tight fitting jeans and trousers should be avoided, such as skinny jeans,
pencil or fishtail skirts, and any curve fitting fabric (like silk). Dark, wide
legged pants create slimming, longer silhouettes, as do tapered A-line skirts.
The Strawberry.
The Strawberry, or
inverted triangle, body type is larger in the bust area with broad shoulders,
and narrower in the hips and thighs. A balanced wardrobe is the goal, so try
wearing full or flared skirts, and wide legged jeans and trousers. Using
cinched belts around the waist will draw the eye downward. Wrap tops and
v-necks compliment a fuller bust, and colored pants draw attention away from
the upper body. Avoid shoulder pads and tapering trousers, light colored
clothing, high-necked and flowing tops.
