With the hot, sticky days of summer in full swing around us and no real end in sight, fashion should not only be about looking awesome, but feeling that way, too! My favorite thing to waltz down the street in on an unnaturally muggy summer day? Maxi Dresses from Veronique's Closet! What I love about them is that not only do they look amazing, they’re so unbelievably comfortable!
Now, if your short like me (I’m 5’2 on a good day!), a maxi dress can sometimes look like a four year old playing dress up, with too much material clinging to all the wrong areas. It’s all about finding what works for you. What I normally do is find one that comes to just below the calf. This way, it elongates the leg nicely and if it’s paired with a nice pair of platform wedges, you give off a nice optical illusion of being somewhat taller. If you’re a tall, skinny girl who wants to look a bit more curvaceous, I recommend something with a ruffle around the bust. It maximizes curves and makes the bust line look bigger. Additionally, a wide belt can work wonders!
